Windows 10 Version 20H1 Microsoft put out a blog post to officially announce the new version of the OS on Wednesday. At some point, you might have encountered the famous memory dump screen, which displays a cryptic error message on a blue background. Windows 10 News and Interests Feature The News and Interests feature is a widget that lives on the notification area of the taskbar near the system clock. By default, when your mouse hovers over the button on the taskbar, the widget launches. It displays local weather, news, finance, traffic conditions, and more. Microsoft uses its Microsoft News network to bring news and other content from more than 4,500 sources. The company also will use AI to learn what news is relevant to you and when you dismiss or like stories in the feed....

The announcement came from the launch event in New York earlier this morning. Ballmer and a few other exec’s reviewed the new offering however the majority of the presentations I found were focused on collaboration. Office 365 is an online version of Microsoft Office, but it is also an Exchange and Sharepoint capable service that will work with desktop apps and mobile devices. Secondly, Ballmer honed in on the benefits for the small and medium-sized businesses drawing attention to the ease of getting the service up and running with little IT support....

The Office Suite for Mac includes a new Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook and OneNote. Unfortunately, no updated Skype for the Business client for Mac. As mentioned in the announcement, the Office 2016 for Mac is only available for download to Office 365 customers. Everyone else will need to wait until September when it will go on sale as a standalone purchase. To the home user this isn’t probably a big deal, but in corporations where iPads are deployed regularly, it should help with productivity. Using Windows 8 Netflix App Launch the Windows 8 app store an you’ll find it under the Entertainment category. I installed it on a Desktop PC and Dell Inspiron Duo with a touch enabled display. And from first impressions it seems basic compared to other devices like iPad or Xbox 360. After you log in, you’ll find your Instant Queue, recommendations and newly added movies and TV shows. All of your favorite TV shows and movies are still there of course, and the new Windows 8 interface makes it easy to browse through them....

Better Tab Management in Microsoft Edge Edge is going to pick up a lot of new tab management features to make navigating the web easier. According to the article by Microsoft Edge general manager Drew DeBruyne, the new management features are “designed specifically to address major points of anxiety for users – the chaos and clutter of the web and the fear of losing tabs.” He also says “Our research tells us that Windows users spend more than 50% of their time on the web, but are often derailed by the arduous task of having to sift through countless search results, sites, and the sheer volume of unfamiliar content online....

To start, you’ll need to install both File Expert and Text Edit. Install both, and then open File Expert. Select My Files. Then Phone Internal Storage. Scroll down and select the System folder. Press the Menu soft button in the lower-left corner. Then select More in the lower right corner. Now tap Mount from the Operation menu. Then Mount as Read-Write. Long-press on build.prop. Select Permission. Set the permissions to Read Write for Owner, Group, and All....

Windows 10 On Windows, you can press the Shift key and right-click on a folder to open a PowerShell window directly to that folder. Or you can add the ‘Open command window here’ from the context menu and use that to open a Command Prompt window to the folder. So, being the geek I am, I decided to scan it. It gave me a link to the Del Monte website. So I can explore more of their fruit products. QR Codes are definitely a cool technology that are included on websites and other products. But having a QR Code on Bananas doesn’t seem to work. How many people would even know what the code is first of all. Secondly, who (other than a hardcore geek) is going to actually scan it with their mobile device?...

According to a post on its Tumblr account, the company said that if you want to keep your current Yahoo ID, you just need to log in before the middle of next month: If you haven’t checked out Yahoo Mail in quite a while, the company has recently revamped it’s service and mobile apps. If you still care about your Yahoo account, or want a new one, this is a good time to see if you can get the ID you want....
