Back on Aug. 23rd, Facebook announced it was adding some improvements to privacy and how you post updates and photos to your Facebook account. Amount the updates (as shown above) is the ability to Mark WHO is with you, WHERE you are and HOW you want to share your updates (and photos and videos). The sharing portion of the new update appears to be taken directly from the Google+ Service....

According to the report Facebook was the most visited website in 2010, accounting for 8.93% of all visits in the US (that’s for the time between January and November 2010, but it’s hard to imagine that December data could change things too much). Facebook was followed by Google.com with 7.19%, and Yahoo Mail – 3.52%. Yahoo was fourth, with 3.30% and YouTube was fifth – 2.65%. Could that mean that people have stopped searching for information and only want to look for other people’s vacation pictures?...

Facebook has officially announced that users will be able to send their friends Facebook Gifts from the iTunes Store. Your friend will be able to buy content like albums, movies, games, apps and whatever else they find. It’s something like a digital iTunes gift certificate, but on Facebook. Values announced are $10, $15, $25 or $50. A partnership with Apple is definitely making the service, that allows, among other things, charity donations, much more credible....

Over the past two years, independent developer Cody Jack Stewart has been working on a music playing & recommendation engine for YouTube. He recently announced it publicly via reddit, and the response was overwhelming. The main reason? It works, and has a clean and fluid interface. The service is called tubalr, and it runs from almost any web browser. It’s free to use, and is snappy and stable. Just type in the artist or song name, and a queue of YouTube videos appears....

Google has made another update to the most frequently visited page on the Internet. The “I’m feeling Lucky” button now covers a lot more than just luck. You can use it to search for just about anything based on random emotions tied into a button that now spins when you hover over it. As stated on the google.com/voice home page, they no longer require an invite to set up your account. Unfortunately, Google was very specific in their blog post that Google Voice is still only available to those inside the USA. Hopefully, more news will follow for Asia, Europe and Canada, however, my guess is they are still working out the details with the carriers and governments in the APAC and EMEA regions....
