Just wanted to give a shout out today to OpenOffice.org! I just grabbed a copy of the new OpenOffice.org 3.0 Beta released 5/7 onto my MAC PowerBook now that it supports MAC OS X Natively. One of my favorite things about Windows has always been how you can change around the color scheme and apply new themes. Google Chrome also has this feature and dozens of pre-built themes for you to apply. All it takes is you, picking out which theme you want, and then applying it. It can’t get much more simple than that can it? The Google team has created multiple themes for Chrome, and personally I like theirs the best....

Use Netflix Parental Controls From your browser, launch Netflix and click your profile in the upper-right corner. Then select “Account” from the drop-down menu. On the next page scroll down and choose “Parental Controls” in the Settings section. For security’s sake, you will need to enter your account password to get to the options in the parental controls section. The update is available on the Microsoft Virtual PC site. You can pick it up directly from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx The update can be a little tricky to find since they put it next to the regular full download of XP mode. You’ll need to select your operating system AND language and then you’ll see the new third option appear that links you to the XP mode update. This update is pretty darn groovy, but they still haven’t made XP mode available to standard editions of Windows 7....

First, download and install the SkyDrive app on Vista and Windows 7. It’s included in Windows 8 as a default Metro feature, but you’ll need to install it on the desktop while using the Release Preview. Gorilla Glass has become a must-have for top devices, and it’s present in more than 575 devices, spanning over 30 important brands. Corning’s press release has been rather cagey when it comes to revealing details about the new generation of Gorilla Glass, but they did say that it will be in accordance with manufacturers’ tendency of offering higher functionality in thinner designs. The technology will be showcased at the company’s CES 2012 booth, and more details will be available on January 9, when the official unveiling will take place....

TrueCrypt is a freeware open source application that is sized at nearly 3 MB and is compatible Windows 7/Vista/XP, Mac OS X, and Linux. The application helps you create encrypted virtual drives that you can store sensitive files in. Basically, the application creates a data files on your computer which can be mounted through the app to generate the virtual drive; data can be saved into your virtual drive which is then saved onto the initially created file....

You can set it up directly using Cortana on Windows 10 or use the Cortana app for Android or iOS. For this article, I’m using Cortana on Windows 10, but whichever device you use, it’s straight-forward and provides step-by-step onscreen instructions.
